Kudremukh Peak R2 - Kudremukh National Park is declared as a Tiger Reserve under Bhadra Tiger Sanctuary, The Kudremukh NP gets its name from the beautiful Peak of Kudremukh (Kudremukha meaning House Face as it appears so). Covering an area 600.32 sq kms it is the second largest declared ‘Wildlife Protected Area’ of a tropical wet evergreen type of forest in the Western Ghats. With an annual rainfall of over 4000 mm the forest is ever green and offers a great trekking opportunity post-monsoon season. The rivers Nethravati, Tunga and Bhadra are believed to originate here at Ganga Moola which is part of the NP. |
